New to renting a holiday property? Use our guidelines and useful tips to help you book the perfect holiday.

Finding a Property

Use our search facility to find your dream holiday by either:

  1. Searching for a golf resort or place which will give you a list of properties for rental and a link to golf courses in the area or
  2. Search for a favourite golf course which will give you a list of properties within close proximity

You can also select optional criteria including availability dates and accommodation requirements to find a selection of properties that you are interested in. Full details on specific properties, and forms for contacting the owners are listed within the property advert themselves, found by clicking on the thumbnail picture or title listed in the search results pages.

Contacting the Owner

At the bottom of the property page, you will find the contact details of the owner, or in some cases their representative. We encourage you to complete the online form, which will immediately send an email to the owner. The form also provides you with the opportunity to make any additional requests. Most owners respond quickly however if you have not been contacted by the owner within 48 hrs, then we do suggest you telephone them.

TIP: Check availability and change over day before you contact the owners and ensure your contact details are correct!

Making a Booking

Information regarding booking is provided on each individual property page. It is normal practice to request between 10% - 50% booking deposit, with the balance being paid approximately 8 weeks prior to arrival. Payment is normally paid by cheque or bank transfer although owners are now starting to use PayPal as a means of taking monies. Most property owners do request a breakage deposit, which is normally refunded on your return, less the cost of any breakages. Some owners also charge extras for air-conditioning, welcome pack, heating, phone etc. so do check carefully. Please also confirm cancellation charges with the individual owner - deposits are often non-refundable and they may have a sliding scale of charges for last minute cancellations after the balance has been paid. You should be sent a rental contract by the owner, which ensures that both parties are happy and clear on what is expected. This will usually include arrival and departure dates and times, payment schedules, cancellation terms and conditions as well as any other specific policies.

TIP: Confirm all the terms of the booking in writing

Any Problems

Owners normally leave instructions at the property for contacting either themselves or their local representative. If you find that you have a problem or an item of equipment breaks down, please call them straight away. Either they or their representative will have the local knowledge to try and put things right. It is essential to air any difficulties on the spot as this gives the owner the chance to ensure your holiday is not spoilt.

TIP: Report a complaint straight away rather than waiting until after you return home.

Before you leave for your holiday destination!

Do ensure you have the following information before you leave:

  • address of the property
  • driving instructions from the airport / ferry / train station
  • details of how you are to pick the key up or the name and telephone number of the person you are meeting in case you need to contact them
  • emergency telephone number
  • where do you take the key when you leave
